1. How screening works
Every file uploaded to Snoutbook — health records, documents, receipts, pet photos, gallery images, and profile photos — is automatically checked for appropriateness before it is posted to your library or shown to anyone you share with. The check is performed by an automated AI review in seconds, applies equally to every account and plan, and cannot be skipped or bought off.
It is a safety wall, not an editorial filter: it exists to keep genuinely harmful material out of a family pet-care app, not to judge whether your content is "on topic." A receipt, a food label, or a photo of your dog being ridiculous on the couch passes just fine.

Never permitted
The short list that has no place in a pet-care app.
- Sexually explicit content or nudity
- Hate speech or hate symbols
- Gratuitous human gore or violenceGraphic harm to people, unrelated to any animal's care
- Content promoting or celebrating animal crueltyDocumentation for care is welcome; glorification is not
- Abusive or vulgar material with no connection to pet care

3. What happens when something is declined
- The upload is not posted — it never becomes visible to family members, sitters, or anyone else on your account.
- The file is removed from storage, and any storage it would have used is credited back to your quota.
- The App shows you why it was declined.
- For profile and pet photos, the previous photo simply remains in place — a declined replacement never disturbs what was already there.
- If a check can't be completed (for example, a temporary service issue), the content is held and re-checked rather than approved automatically — the safety wall fails closed, never open.
4. What screening does not do
- No human browses your library. Screening is automated; your records are not reviewed by people as part of this process.
- No judgment on relevance. Off-topic-but-benign content is yours to keep — Snoutbook doesn't decide what belongs in your pet's story.
- No effect on your private notes. The screening applies to uploaded files; your typed records and journal entries are simply yours.
- No training. Like every AI feature in Snoutbook, screening does not use your content to train AI models.
5. Mistakes & appeals
Automated screening is deliberately tuned to allow legitimate content, but no automated system is perfect. If something you believe is appropriate was declined, email support@snoutbookapp.com with what you uploaded and when — a human will review it and make it right.
6. Repeated violations
An occasional declined upload has no consequence — the file just isn't posted. Deliberate or repeated attempts to upload prohibited content may result in suspension or termination of your account under Section 11 of the Terms of Service.
7. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted in the App or by other appropriate means.
